Why ADAPT and not Debs Barritt Counselling? When I consider counselling, and particularly my counselling practice, the word ADAPT springs to mind. The process of counselling is all about change and transitions and you frequently need to ADAPT to new feelings or circumstances.
ADAPT is all about you and what you bring into the room with you. It is not about me. Is my hope that, when you look back in years to come, you will recall how you changed and adapted because of our work together.
The name ADAPT is meaningful to me because of its positivity – the feelings of change and the newness it brings along with it. I hope I can share that positivity with you as we begin our journey together, for however long that may take.
Even in the darkest of situations, there is hope – it is just that when we are right down there, scraping that barrel, we cannot always see the light. Moving beyond our depth of feelings seems impossible to us and it can feel like there is no way out. This is where I can provide you with hope, and help you find the strength to overcome those challenges, finding resilience and self-worth.
My only request is that you do not suffer in silence. Counselling is a special relationship whereby you can share your feelings and deepest thoughts with someone who id objective, and this alone can be a healing experience.
Why not give ADAPT, and Debs a try? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, beginning with self-belief. You owe this to yourself – I am not promising it will be easy, but I do promise to support you every step of the way.
